Darian Dauchan, an actor and solo performer, embraced the art of Spoken
Word in 2005 and within his first three months had won slams at all three
major poetry venues in New York City including the legendary Nuyorican
Poets Cafe, Bowery Poetry Club and Bar 13. In addition he has competed as
a semifinalist in all three venues, was a member of the 2006 Nuyorican Poetry
Slam Team, was crowned the Grand Slam Champion for Bowery's Urbana
Slam Team which ranked 6th in the nation at the 2007 National Poetry Slam in
Austin, TX, and was a 2008 Nuyorican Grand Slam Finalist. He has toured
across the country at poetry venues including the famous Green Mill in
Chicago, and has also performed at colleges that include the prestigious Yale
University and New York University. His popular Obama poem has recieved
over 30,000 views on YouTube and counting. His first spoken word album
entitled Darian Dauchan(Live): The Big Apple Recordings is now available at
PoetCD.com. As an actor he has appeared on Broadway (Twentieth Century,
starring Alec Baldwin and Anne Heche) and can currently be seen on the TV
show Bet the House on Nickelodeon as "Darian the Sound FX Guy".
